AuctionZip Live! Over the Years

Here at AuctionZip.com, we recently celebrated our second anniversary and have a lot of great news to share with you! Since our first online auction in April 2010, AuctionZip Live! has simulcast more than 7,000 live auctions showcasing millions of items, including antiques, collectibles, coins, firearms, real estate, dolls, machinery, and estate auctions. In the last 12 months, the number of auctions held on AuctionZip Live! and the number of lots listed have increased more than three times. We are more excited than ever to provide our auctioneer partners and bidding members the tools they need to buy and sell with confidence.
AuctionZip: Then and Now
In the first six months of AuctionZip there were:

• 111 auctioneers listing items. Now there are 25,000!
• 241 live, online auctions. We have now reached 7,000!
• 70,000 lots listed. Today that number has skyrocketed to 112 million!!!

AuctionZip auctioneers have seen buyers becoming more active, with bidding and purchasing tripling since April 2010. Michael Whelchel, co-founder of Estate Roadshow, said the live auction market has changed dramatically in two short years. “Today’s bidders have less time, and less gas money, to travel for items they’re interested in. On AuctionZip Live!, we can give them the detailed descriptions and multiple pictures they need to really see an item so that they can make more confident bidding decisions.” With 14 million visitors every year, AuctionZip auctioneers are seeing more traffic than on any other site!
Auctioneers have also benefited from AuctionZip’s new Infinite Bidding system. Introduced earlier this year, it allows clients to access live auctions on the Internet right from the auctioneer’s website. Completely customizable, Infinite Bidding includes everything auctioneers need to run a successful live auction: the full sale schedule, catalog listings with images, streaming audio and video, built in help, and world class technical support. The results Infinite Bidding delivers are impressive. Auctions that use Infinite Bidding have seen 39% growth in total auction turnover in 2012 vs. 2011,
AuctionZip’s tremendous growth has benefitted bidders as well. With more auctioneers listing their catalogs, bidders have increased access to items they want. Each year, auctioneers list 250,000 local auctions that include more than 112 million items! And with the number of live, online auctions tripling this past year, bidders can find even more of what they want from auctions across the country and around the world.
AuctionZip bidders are also seeing innovations to the live console that further enhance their user-friendly experience. In April of this year, we introduced two new features, Maximum Bid and Available Bid Limit. With Maximum Bid, users can simply enter the highest amount they are willing to pay for an item, then sit back and relax while the AuctionZip system bids at the appropriate increment until their maximum bid is reached. Available Bid Limit shows users the difference between the items they have won along with subsequent maximum bid entries versus the bid limit the auction house has approved. Bidders can now quickly and easily see how much of their bid limit remains.
